The protagonists of this year’s Best of Fests programme come from different countries and live in different political and social realities. Yet their stories share one common thread: each of them faces the rules, systems, and expectations that shape their lives. Sometimes these forces take the form of the state, family, religion, war, technology, or the invisible norms of society.
