Films to watch at the Heddy Honigmann Retrospective
Introducing the films featured in Heddy Honigmann’s Retrospective.
Heddy Honigmann is one of documentary cinema’s most distinctive voices, bringing themes of empathy, memory, exile, love, and human experience to the screen with remarkable sensitivity. Her films illuminate the everyday lives, memories, and emotions of ordinary people against the backdrop of history and politics.
As part of the retrospective programme, Azerbaijani audiences will have the opportunity to see Metal and Melancholy (1993), Underground Orchestra (1997), Good Husband, Dear Son (2002), and Oblivion (2008) for the first time in Azerbaijan.
We would like to thank Heddy Honigmann’s family, close collaborators, producers, and the Eye Film Museum in the Netherlands for their support in making this retrospective possible.
